ESSI / 2 hours · once or twice a week · Kiketi, Tbilisi
Regular ESSI practice
Work your body. Clear your head.
Two hours with a horse that combine a full-body workout with a practice in nervous system regulation.
Start as a complete beginner, build on your riding experience or prepare for a longer adventure on horseback.
Make it more than a one-off. Make it part of your week.
Your whole body gets involved
Seat. Balance. Coordination. Pelvic mobility. Back. Core. Legs. Breath.
As the horse moves beneath you, your body continually finds balance, adapts and engages.
It's a real physical workout — with a living, 500-kilogram partner beneath you.
And it goes beyond muscle
A horse invites you to be present. It's hard to stay somewhere else in your head.
You start noticing your breath, tension, attention and the speed of your reactions. You practise responding without bracing at every movement or trying to control everything in advance.
Over time, you learn to return to a state that makes it easier to move, feel and act.
Physical training and nervous system awareness. One session.
Just want to learn to ride? You're welcome too.
You don't need a therapeutic goal or a big personal question to come to ESSI.
Perhaps you live in Tbilisi and have always wanted to make riding part of your life.
We start at your level, including complete beginner. We work on your seat, balance, aids and movement, gradually heading out onto trails.
For us, riding is about more than technique.
We teach you to ride while keeping a real connection with your horse.
Why make it regular?
Understanding something once doesn't automatically change the way your body responds.
The nervous system learns through experience and repetition. Neuroscience calls this experience-dependent neuroplasticity: repeated practice helps build and reinforce new skills.
So we return to the work: noticing tension sooner, moving more precisely, finding balance more readily and understanding ourselves and our horses better.
You don't need a breakthrough every Wednesday. You're building a skill.
And yes, you really learn to be with a horse
Care. Groundwork. Seat. Aids. Movement. Riding.
Practice builds confidence and independence around horses.
Beyond being able to ride,
you learn to understand the animal moving with you.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants regular movement beyond the gym.
Anyone looking for an outdoor activity close to Tbilisi.
Anyone who wants to reconnect with their body after a week spent mostly in their head.
Anyone learning to ride from scratch or developing existing skills.
Anyone who met a horse once and thought:
“I want this to be a regular part of my life.”
And anyone preparing for a riding expedition.
Planning a multi-day ride?
Several days and many hours in the saddle ask much more of you than a one-hour ride.
Riding skills are only part of it. Your body needs stamina, a stable seat and time to get used to longer hours on horseback.
Think of it like preparing for a marathon: a long journey is more enjoyable when you've trained for it.
Regular practice gradually prepares your body and your partnership with the horse for the trail ahead.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST SESSION
Can I learn to ride as an adult beginner?
Absolutely. You don't need any riding experience to begin regular ESSI practice.
Can I simply come for a ride?
Yes. If you'd like to meet the horses and try riding, start with a single session. You can decide afterwards whether to make it a regular practice.
Is it exercise or a somatic practice?
Both. Riding challenges your balance, coordination and muscles. The ESSI approach also explores your state, attention and connection with the horse.
Where do sessions take place?
At Kiketi Farm, around 30 minutes from Tbilisi.
Can you help me prepare for a riding expedition?
Yes. We can shape your regular practice around preparing for a multi-day route: developing your seat, stamina, saddle time and independent interaction with a horse.
Getting ready for your session
There's no need to buy specialist clothing.
Wear comfortable long trousers or leggings without bulky inner seams, and sturdy, closed-toe footwear. Dress for the weather: most of our time is spent outdoors.
We provide a helmet and the equipment you need.
And remember: you don't have to know how to ride. We'll show you what you need when you arrive.
